Wallace married May Kennedy Dobson on Dec 18 1894. May was born Jul 9 1873 in Broylesville, Tennessee. She died Feb 4 1933 in San Diego, California.

108. Emma Lestelle Hamilton [scrapbook] (William Perry , John Bell , William Robert , William Robert , William , John William ) was born Apr 27 1865 in Sullivan County, Tennessee. She died Oct 24 1922 in Tennessee.

Emma Baker says that after (her grandmother) Emma Hamilton Thomas's
husband died in a train accident, she moved with her five children from
Atlanta, Georgia into her parents' hotel, the Hotel Hamilton in Bristol,
Tennessee.
She remembers her grandmother Emma coming to visit her home on Anderson
Street in Bristol Tennessee when she was very little.

Emma married William Josiah Thomas, son of J. Wheeler Thomas and Rachael Alley Straw, on May 7 1879 in Tennessee. William was born Dec 18 1857 in Tennessee. He died Dec 9 1902 in Bristol, Virginia.

Emma Baker says he was a salesman, and died in a train accident, survived
by wife and five children.

William and Emma had the following children:

  128 M i Clarence Hamilton Thomas was born May 19 1887 in Tennessee. He died Jul 25 1933 in Bacchus, Utah.

Emma Baker says he married a Mormon lady, perhaps named Maud, and
had one son. She remembers him as her mother's favorite brother, and
recalls visiting them in Salt Lake City, Utah when she was 11. The next
Christmas he sent her a handmade dollhouse that Emma has passed on to her
daughter and granddaughter. "Remarkable is the fact that he had an
artificial arm and hand."
        Clarence married Maud(?)Bettie(?).

Emma Baker says Clarence's wife's name was Maud, tho not sure.

Emma Baker says, "It seems Wistar was one of the night clerks at the
Hotel Hamilton. It was his job to clean out after the 'drummers' (the
salesmen) had checked out of their room. It is reported that he used the
tongs from the fireplace to remove the playing cards from the tables--no
contamination. Later they were burned in the fireplace at Uncle Will's
behest."

The following is from the fly leaf of "Sermons on Books of the Bible" by
William Wistar Hamilton (Broadman Press, 1947, Nashville, Tn).

"William Wistar Hamilton is a native of Kentucky, a graduate of King
College and of Southern Baptist Seminary, Th. D. He holds the honorary
degrees of D.D., and LL. D., from King College and Georgetown College.
He was ordained to the Baptist ministry in 1893, and has held pastorates
in Virginia, West Virginia, Kentucky and Louisiana. He was
superintendant of evangelism of the Home Mission Board, 1906-1909 and
1918-1921, and president of the Baptist Bible Institute, 1928-1942. For
many years he has been active in the co-operative work of the Southern
Baptist Convention and served two years as president of the Convention.
He is author of a number of books stressing evangelism, and of "Sermons
on Books of the Bible" in five volumes. From 1943 to 1947 he was pastor
of Gentilly Baptist Church, New Orleans. He is now chaplain of the
Southern Baptist Hospital, New Orleans."

William married Zula Bell Doyle [scrapbook], daughter of Rhederic Elwood Doyle and Victoria Virginia Walton, on May 31 1893 in Tennessee. Zula was born May 22 1869 in Oxford, Mississippi. She died Apr 20 1940.

Known within her immediate family as "Momdee."

but photographs and remembrances of relatives confirm her middle name as "Birdwell"

Charmian married (1) John Lawson Williamson [scrapbook] on Oct 23 1895 in Tennessee. John was born May 15 1870. He died Nov 2 1904.

Charmian also married (2) Morris Goodell Beckwith on Jun 17 1913. Morris was born Oct 14 1869.

They had the following children:
